This tranquil estate dates back to the mid 19th century when it was first planted by the great grandfather of the previous owners. It covers some 72 hectares (180 acres) of vines, olives, pines, lavender fields and lovely country side providing the perfect holiday retreat. There is ample scope for walks, cycling or boating on the canal, as well as the chance to relax by the swimming pools or dine al fresco. And if you enjoy a glass of wine be sure to sample some of the excellent wine produced from the estate's annual grape harvest.
Nearby there is much to keep the whole family entertained. Enjoy visiting the fascinating World heritage site of medieval Carcassonne and the picturesque village of Trebes bordering the Canal du Midi, where you'll discover a great choice of bars and restaurants. After exploring these the more adventurous visitors may enjoy the nearby attractions of the Mediterranean beaches, coastal towns such as Perpignan, the local capital of Toulouse and of course the famous Cathar towns and ruined castles. Barcelona is only 2 1/2 hours away and skiing in the Pyrenees even closer.

Easily reached by car from the main Toulouse to Narbonne motorway or a short 15 minute drive from Carcassonne international airport, finding us couldn't be simpler. Alternatively you can take advantage of flights to Toulouse, Perpignan , Bezier or even Girona in nearby Spain , all of which are within easy reach.
We believe your stay at Cantalauze (the name is derived from a mix of Ocitan and French meaning the "Sound of the stone", referring to the cliffs on the estate overlooking the Canal ) will be truly memorable and we very much look forward to welcoming you soon.
